"I got angry" = I felt annoyed. Nothing necessarily happens to the people around me. All you know is I feel bad, you don't know if I do anything to show that anger. It's about my feelings, not my actions.
"I scolded him" = I tell him off. I shout at him or I discipline him. It's about my action towards another person.

To scold is something someone higher up does to someone lower down
e.g., a parent can scold their child, but a child can't really scold their parent
Whereas a parent can get angry with their child, and a child can also get angry with their parent.
