¿Qué significa I planted myself and was about to tell her to get lost when the weirdnest thing happened. I was making this big windmill motion to break away from her, but somehow on the downswing my hand wound up tangling into hers. I couldn't believe it. ?

I planted myself = I stood my ground/I became immovable.
Get lost = Leave me alone.
Big windmill motion = making large arm motions.
To break away = to escape.
Downswing = the downward motion made by the "big windmill motion" made earlier.
Wound up = resulted/to become
Tangling = becoming caught.

I stood my ground and was about to tell her to leave me alone, but then a strange thing happened. I used a large arm motion to escape from her, but somehow, during the downward arm motion, my hand became caught by her hand. I couldn't believe it.
