Pregunta de Inglés (US)

A: "My roommate always helps me with my homework. Thanks to it, I can keep up with my classes."
B: "My roommate always helps me with my homework. Thanks to that, I can keep up with my classes."

Hello! are the sentences above natural sounding? Maybe I should say "thanks to him", but I want to use "it" or "that" instead of "him".
