@Arvin_Chiang paste is usually for thinner things that you apply with glue or liquid adhesive. Paste can also be used with stickers, things that use adhesives or something sticky to “adhere” if that makes sense. I would not use paste in this situation, it does not sound natural. If you say paste, I as a native speaker, am thinking of you taking glue or something and gluing something to your wall.

@Arvin_Chiang stick is one of the most natural ways to say it.
Personally I use “stick” or “put” in this situation. Simpler words are usually the most natural in conversation :))
