Pregunta de Inglés (US)
I think this clothe doesn't suit you.
I don't think this clothe suit you.
↑
I have a question about them.
I think they mean almost the same thing, but I feel like "I don't~" seems to be used more often than "I think" while reading something like reddit. Do have any reasons ? (I guess that is because it is easier for the listener to understand. )
Which one do you guys prefer to use ?

I never thought about this. Maybe when it's a negative sentence, you start with 'I don't think it looks good on you. I think it doesn't look good on you sounds a little bit awkward.
Also, by using 'I think as a preamble, you put a distance between your opinion and the person you're speaking to. But this is purely impression based and I have no evidence to support it. Grammatically both are correct.

Thank you for answering my question !
I see ! Surely "I think~" may be easier to say than "I don't think~".
I will use it more from now on ^^
