This might be a complicated question, and may require context. Can you provide an example of where you encountered these phrases? They are not very common. Let me try:
"Higher love" is most likely a reference to religious context, and would probably refer to the love of God, or love FROM God.
"Great love" is most likly used in context of a person's love of another person (spouse) or a cherished activity.
Example: Magellan embarked on a journey to circumnavigate the world in part due to his great love of sailing.

@irelandm but higher cannot be used the same as great? Or it is different as you explained , higher love is for love for God, etc?
- Inglés (US)
@Yomyt Right, it would be weird to refer to a spouse, or activity, with "higher love". They are not naturally interchangeable.

@irelandm ok If I love somebody or other things that don’t have to do with religion or God, I use “great love” and, if it is higher love for God or religion is correct?
- Inglés (US)
@Yomyt Well, that depends on the context, but it's mostly used naturally for activities, not people.
In regular conversation, this could be natural:
"My great love of skiing draws me to the mountains every winter."
If you are talking about loving someone, using either "great" or "higher" would be strange. For a romatic partner you might say,
"My wife is my one true love."
"In 1998, I married the love of my life."
"Higher Love" is more like a topic of discussion about bible verses; it's not really something you'd ever use in regular conversation, other than to talk to fellow followers to say something like "to feel His Higher Love ..." or some such. Not really my area of expertise.
If you give me an example of what you want to say, I can help you create a natural sentence.

@irelandm I understood. You mean Great love can be used for people and things that don’t have to do with religion or God, ok?
And higher love can be used only for religious or topics of God? Ok?
Is it like this?

@Yomyt Yes, you got it; "Great" in this context is *MOSTLY* used for things, but *can* be used for people under some circumstances.

In literary context, like in a story book, you could refer to someone as a great love.
"Princess Gertrude was the Prince's great love." This would be natural, and everything is fine.
But in a real conversation with friends, it would be strange to say, "Princess Gertrude is my great love." It would also be strange to say, "I have great love for Princess Gertrude." Overall, this is just not natural.
