¿Qué significa "fight them to the ground for a Mars bar" ?

In the documentary "Marooned With Ed Stafford", after living in the jungle of Borneo for 10 days, Ed said like this:

“I cannot wait to see these guys[a tribespeople] and then fight them to the ground for a Mars bar.”

I guess “a Mars bar” may be "a scar" because
the "very humid" ground of the jungle left a scar on sole of his foot.

Did he meant he would like to step on a "solid and dry" ground as soon as possible for his scar?

Hmm I'm a bit confused about the scar part. Is that you talking or is it part of the passage? A Mars bar is a candy bar. Kinda sounds like he's been stuck in the jungle for 10 days and now he's ready for something tasty, so he's willing to wrestle for it.

(The scar is only my guess, not part of the passage.)

Would you let me know, then, what 'them' refers to in this sentence? Is 'them' just 'things' not any people?
