"The war was over without shot being fired."
"I would not dare to go home without job finished."
I wonder why in the first sentence there is "being" used, while in the second sentence "being" is omitted. Plus, is it ok to remove the "being" in the first sentence or add a "being" in the second respectively without changing their original meanings?
