Pregunta de Inglés (UK)
"The war was over without shot being fired."
"I would not dare to go home without job finished."
I wonder why in the first sentence there is "being" used, while in the second sentence "being" is omitted. Plus, is it ok to remove the "being" in the first sentence or add a "being" in the second respectively without changing their original meanings?

You could add "being" to the 2nd sentence. ("I would not dare to go home without the job being finished") - it would actually sound better this way.
You could also remove "being" from the 1st sentence, but then it would have to become "the war was over without a shot fired".
I hope this helps :)
