「〜しようとしたとき(に)、…した」

I was about to leave the house when the phone rang.
家を出ようとしたとき、電話が鳴った。

I was going to into the store when I saw a nice bakery.
そのお店に入ろうとしたときに、 すてきなパン屋さんが目に入った。🙂

Was going to… but then〜
…しようとしたけど、その時〜


Ex.
I was about to leave the house when the phone rang
電話が鳴った時、私はちょうど出かけるところだった。

I'd like to make sure.
Isn't the second example
"I was going to into the store but then I saw a nice bakery."
instead of using "when"?

If so, here's the translation.
