Question about family.
This kind of a weird question, I'm sorry.
I want to get opinions from Korean people
My mom always says stuff in Korean (that I don't understand), refuses to tell me what it means, doesn't let me allow me to join conversations (she says young people can't join adults' conversations), and she doesn't tell me so many things.
My other Korean relatives are honest and tell me things, but my mom is weirdly secretive about everything and if I ask, she says "its none of your business." It's hard to describe the feeling.
For example, my mom is not honest about money or information about the family or anything, but my uncle is very very honest about it
They tell me completely different things.
It's like she doesn't want me to know about anything and she's pushing me away.

Is it really normal to never tell a child anything and to act like I can't know about anything and like I'm a complete outsider? And to never tell me anything and to say "its none of your business?" I think this is not normal in any country. What do you think?
Her excuse is always "it's because I'm Korean and you're a child" but I don't think so because all the other Korean people I know and the other Korean family members are not like this at all. Plus, I'm actually an adult. I tried to talk to her about it, but it makes things much worse so I don't know what to do. I feel like she's made so much distance that I don't even feel like my family is my family, and I know nothing about my own family.
It's really hard to describe.

I personally think it's a matter of individual personality rather than cultural features.
If you interpret it from a Korean point of view, It's an old-fashioned idea that family should not talk about money. but it existed.
it could be also a matter of 체면.
체면 is a concept that seems to be a mixture of authority and honor.
Koreans are familiar with the vertical hierarchy, and it also exists among families.
for example The father has him territory and mother has her territory, and their territories aren't same height. someone's must higher than others.
Of course, it doesn't say that a son could became a slave to his father, but when someone touch this, he'll feel a great sense of rejection.
Isn't it because the mother refused to talk to you because she thought it was a question that touched this area?
