Eg: You talk while you sleep

For a temporal clause: ... 的时候
For a condition clause:
①(Subject)要是(V/Adj), 那...
②...(的话), (Subject) 就 (V/Adj)
③...的时候
1. 你在睡觉的时候说梦话。
2. 你要是高兴，那我也高兴。/ 你高兴的时候，我就高兴。/你高兴(的话)我就高兴。

1. 如果＝要是 (but 要是 are more oral) whilst '……的话' is an optional component that can soften your language and always appear after the assumption.
2. ...的话 is required only when the clause has no other components (like 如果/要是/假如) showing you are making an assumption.
3. Also, 如果/要是 are both conj, whilst ……的话 is conventionally not seen as a conjunction word.
4. The following structures are equal:
①如果/要是……
②如果/要是……的话
③……的话
5. Strictly speaking, if the 2 clauses share the same subject, 如果/要是 should be put after the subject:
① 你 要是/如果 去商店(的话)，记得给我带瓶水。＝
② 要是/如果 你去商店(的话)，记得给我带瓶水。(strictly not correct but often seen)＝
③ 你去商店的话，记得给我带瓶水。
If you go to the shop, please remember to get me a bottle of water.
6. In case that the 2 clauses have different subjects, conjunctions like 如果 can only be put before the subject:
① 要是/如果 你 去商店(的话)，我也去。＝
② 你去商店的话，我也去。
whilst strictly speaking, *③你 要是/如果 去商店(的话)，我也去 is not correct but in daily life it is often seen.

Usually we put the conditional clause, which includes 要是/如果..., before the main clause, bcz we think only after the assumption happens can the main clause happen.
But in daily language we may not speak with such a clear mind, and in this case the conditional clause can appear after the main clause as an addition.
But of course, for a learner, he'd better try to use the most natural or standard expression. Putting the conditional clause after the main clause seems neither standard nor natural. XD
