meN- is used on the verb of an active sentence.
lips consonants:
if the first letter start with b, p, v, f use mem-
bawa > membawa
fitnah > memfitnah
for P, the first letter is removed
pukul > memukul
tongue consonants:
if the first letter is d, t, j, c, sy use men-
cari > mencari
dorong > mendorong
for T, the first letter is removed

@jewelzz20 Not currently, but simple. Indonesian do not have tenses, only aspects. For example in English you have Simple, Perfect, and Continuous. MeN- is for simple

If we want to tell a story or what happened, usually we already tell the time when it happened at the beginning of the story. In English the story would start like "I cut my hair yesterday". And then everything after that is already implied that it is happening yesterday.
