How does renting an apartment work?
I've read that the monthly rent goes around 500.000 KRW, but the deposit can get crazy high. Is this true?
How do people go around this? I've heard of crazy deposit amounts.

It depends on the location for sure,

But normally if you pay 500,000 deposit will be around 10,000,000~ but again this depend on the location

Some places has lower deposit

normally it's 1year base

@Connorlee Seems a bit crazy, doesn't it? Like having to spend 8500$~ for the deposit? Even tho you get them after, the initial price is pretty high.

You may found a big or decent location place it's pretty expensive where do you look for the house?

@Connorlee Planning on going there in about a year or so. I wouldn't mind the location, but I'd love to have a way to go to Busan/Seoul by train. So I don't mind a smaller city with train stations.

If you say so I'm pretty sure you can find the place with cheaper deposit :) in Seoul and Busan as well!!

@Connorlee Thanks, as I get the plan more established I'll start looking more in-depth. But it's always cool to have a rough idea ^^

@amaggi 네. 한국 월세의 특징이 보증금이 비싸고 월세는 낮은 편이라는 겁니다. 보증금이 낮으면 월세가 최소한 두 배 이상 뛸 겁니다. 천/50은 서울 원룸 기준, 매우 싼 편에 속해서 집상태가 별로 안 좋고 교통이 별로일 확율이 높을 듯 하네요.
