I'd use «tú», because it is more common «tutear». But it's ok to say «usted». You're only being polite.

It depends. Here are some examples:
When talking to a company: Ustedes (You plural)
When talking to a person you know well: Tú (You informal)
When talking to someone you don't know regardless of whether it's a teenager or an older person: Usted (You formal)

I always use and have always used "tú". If someone talks or writes to me using "usted" online, I'd assume it's either a non-native speaker or a Colombian (because they use "usted" even informally). It's not common at all.
