@telliston yes, well, "estás preciosa" is more like "you're gorgeous", and you can use it as synonym for "te ves hermosa" of course. Actually, you can combine them as you want, like this:
Estás preciosa/hermosa/bella
Te ves preciosa/hermosa/bella
Luces preciosa/hermosa/bella

I saw in a subtitle once, “estás preciosa.” If you were complimenting your wife (or whomever) on how they looked, would you tend to say “te ves” or “estás” or “luces”?
