Chico/chica
The formal(and main) definition of chico is like a ADJETIVE which indicate "of small size".

For example :
-¿Quieres una pizza chica, mediana o grande?
-Do you want a small, medium or large pizza?

The size of many clothe is "small, medium or large"
-playera chica, small t-shirt
-pantalón chico, small pants

Also It's colloquially used for make reference to a teenager because, here, its sense is "a person of small age, young" (una persona de corta edad, joven).

For me, it's common hear something like :
-mi hermano es más chico que yo
My brother is more younger than me.
- Ése niño es el más chico de la clase.
That kid is the youngest of the class.
In some High school:
-Ese chico es muy amable
That boy is very kind.
Here, notice that "chico" mean boy, simply someone young.
