What is the difference between "por" and "para?" How do you use them correctly?

those words have lot of uses. for example: estoy por comer means I'm about to eat. and no Tengo nada para comer means I have nothing to eat

The "por" and "para" can be a little confusing because of their translation -usually 'for'. There are certain rules to know when to use each one correctly.
