What an average high school day is like in Japan?
When does high school starts and ends in general? Are school gates closed during teaching hours? Students do the cleaning after teaching hours? How long is a break between classes? How long is the lunch break? It is compulsory to stay after teaching hours and do club activities? Teachers give homework every day?

My school was started at 8:45. School ended at almost 16:00.
Usually, 6 classes in a day. 1 class time was 50 minutes.
But sometimes 7 classes in a day, then school ended at 17:00.
School gate was open, but we didn't go out. If we go out, teachers were angered.
I thought, teachers were afraid of problems happens.
About cleaning.
After teaching hours, we separated some groups, and cleaned 2 weeks, and rest 1 week.
Everyday I cleaned different places.
But maybe my school is rare case.
Usually, everyday clean.
Break between classes is 10 minutes.
We had lunch after 4th class. Lunch time was 50 minutes.
My school club activities were compulsory.
But, almost students didn't care about it.
Homework wasn't given everyday.
Preparatory school may gives homework everyday (my school wasn't).
