Why do you write "what *** stands for?" and not "what does *** stand for?" ?
Is it like abbreviation stands for something anyway, so you don't need to make sure, putting auxiliary verb?

The correct way to form the question is "what does __ stand for?" I'm not sure why someone would say "what __ stands for" unless they're just writing poorly.
You would say "what __ stands for" if it's part of a larger sentence:
Do you know what __ stands for?
