The result of the survey revealed Japanese men's degree of sense of happiness is much lower than women.
According to the result of the survey, only less than 30 present of men are happy about their lives, which is more than 10 person lower than women.
What do the sentences above sounds like ? Would you correct them?
I just would them to mean, "調査によると日本人の男性の幸福度は女性よりも大幅に低い。"

はい、おっしゃる通りです。
「幸福を感じている男性は女性よりも大幅に少ない」というのが正確な表現になります。
ただし、集合体としての男性あるいは女性の性格として「男性の幸福度は低い」という表現がされる場合があります。
別の例だと、
「日本人の英語力は低い。」などとよく言われます。
これも
「高い英語力を持った日本人は少ない」というのが正確な言い方ですが、やはり"数"が集合体としの
日本人の英語力の低さに置き換えられてこのような表現がされます。
