Pregunta de Japonés
About "anata" (you). I've read, it's quite rude to use "anata", but in some books it's normally used. What is true? Are there other, polite ways to say "you"? How can I even say something to someone without "you"? Sooo confusing 😵

I think a lot of text books start out using あなた quite a lot to show proper sentence structure, but I've found it gets used less and less as you progress through the various text books. I personally try to avoid using it as much as possible, which is actually pretty easy to do since the subject of a sentence does not always have to be said explicitly as long as the context is clear.

Japanese often use his or her name instead of "anata."
Name sounds more frendly than "anata."
Or anata can be omit when we can guess from the context.

Ah, so this is the reason, why they say the names from each other so often. I was always wondering, why it's in anime all the time "A-san this... A-san that..." It's nice to memorise the characters name, but sometimes it was confusing, like "She is already talking to him... why does she say his name all the time?" or "Why speak so many in third person about themself?" But now I get it.
Thank you so much 😄

Wives might say "anata" when speaking to their husband.
