"Gravity happens."
What does it mean? Sounds like a lesson.
Like, "Things happen no matter how you try"?

Honestly I've never heard of that term being used in conversation or have come across that in reading

Been in America for 17 years... so unless someone older than me knows or it's a regional thing I don't think that term has any particular meaning

Thanks. This line is from TV show "Life below Zero". The speaker is talking about how hard it is to live in Alaska. And here is her whole line below. Can you give me a clue to understand, even a outline?
"Every year, I have the concern how adept am I at my own survival?
The mind says, boo-yah 18. 10 foot tall, bulletproof.
But the body says, gravity happens.I'm a poster child, you know."

Aah I see. Then I think you were correct in your first thought. The character is implying that no matter how invincible they feel, "life happens". Gravity will always keep you on the earth and you can't defy it. Like bad things will happen in life and you can't avoid them

Thank you!
Basically she is saying that her mind thinks she is invincible but her body doesn't think so, right? because people gets old and their health could get problems.
So, what does "18" "10 foot tall" "poster child" mean in this context?
