You can just answer it with i’m good thanks or anything, people use it as an opener like hello but many people still answer it with simple answers like I’m good thanks, I’m great and you etc
It’ll be quite awkward to ignore it lol at the end of the day it’s still a question being asked to you!

I think we do it for politeness in a lot of cases. It is still a question so anytime you hear it, just answers it as would normally. The time that it problery means it is a serious question would be when you are looking sick or hurt. That's just my personal thoughts on it.

@gxntoki I have never ignored it. Just sometimes someone asks and don'l look on my side is like they don't expect me to answer. I have some confusing times with it. 😛 But thanks. I'll continue to give an answer all the time.

It's used out of politeness and also as a greeting. Unless you know the person well enough to share your personal issues, always answer 'I'm fine!'. :D
