yeah quite often, its usually used quite informally though.

an example of using like alot is instead of saying "and I said" we tend to say "and i was like" we also use and "and i was like" it "it was like" to describe how something was.
e.g if we were telling a story we would probaly say
"when katy said she ran to school I was like 'why' and then she was like 'because I didn't want to be late' " ( when katy said she ran to school I said 'why' and then she said 'because I didn't want to be late)

I say 'You know' all the time but i spell it as Y'know

Using ‘like’ as said above is very informal, and you probably shouldn’t get into the habit of saying that. Also, I say ‘you know’ a lot and I hear it a lot as well.
