@Marlorabe That would be a run-on sentence and also breaks parallel structure.
* I looked in the glass, but the reflection (in the glass) was not mine, but Mira's. ✔
If you want to use "instead", you'll need to start a new sentence. Additionally, as the first part is using the possessive "mine", the second should maintain that, saying "Mira's". So:
☓ The reflection was not mine, but Mira. (broken parallel structure)
- 写った顔は僕のではなく、ミラだった。
◯ The reflection was not mine, but Mira's (OK).
- 写った顔は僕のではなく、ミラのだった。
◯ The reflection was not me, but Mira (Maintains parallel structure. OK)
- 写ったのは僕ではなく、ミラだった。

I looked in the glass, but rather than seeing my own reflection, I saw that of Mira's.
