For "What time is it?" I've heard "Was Uhr ist es?", "Wie viel Uhr ist es?" and "Wie spät ist es?". Which of these is most correct or common?

'Was Uhr ist es' is wrong. 'Wie viel Uhr ist es?' would be the most common one and 'Wie spät ist es?' is also common but you would use it in the afternoon or evening since it translates to 'how late is it?' :)

I would say the most common expression is: Wie spät ist es? It doesn't matter if it's morning/noon/afternoon/evening or night when using it.
