In written words, is "por qué" interchangeable with "porque"? I have seen many native speakers type "porque" when I would think it should be "por qué".

la mayoría de los hispano hablantes confunden esas palabras

El uso corecto es:
¿por qué? is pregunta
and
porque... is respuesta (razón de algo .. like.. becouse)
- Español (México)
- Español (España)
por qué = why
por que or porque =because
sometimes some people don't separate or pull apart the word

Porque: because.
Por qué: why.
A lot of native speakers (at least on my country) just ignore the grammar rules.
- Español (España)
Por qué = Why
Porque = Because
(El) porqué = (The) reason
Por que - it can be used in two different ways, and it's difficult to translate
Many people confuse them. But here some examples:
- ¿Por qué te gusta esto?
-> Why do you like this?
- Porque es divertido
-> Because it's funny
- No sé el porqué de su retraso
-> I don't know the reason of his delay
- Estoy preocupada por que no lleguen
-> I am worried for them not to arrive
- El premio por que lucho es de 10.000 €
-> The prize I fight for is €10,000.
(In the last example the most common thing is to add an article, in this case "el" because "precio" is masculine and singular. So it would be "el premio por el que lucho").

@skeletor@matchycadiz What you both said is incorrect.
@skeletor "por que" doesn't mean "because". And @matchycadiz "por que" doesn't mean "why"...

@-Alexia25- reason is you are specifying it but if you said "because" you are saying "por que" in a simple way

igualmente buenas noches

Most of the people doesn't know a lot of facts of the spanish, between them are the different between the questioning form and the affirmative form.
Por qué

Cómo
Cuándo
Cuánto
Dónde
All those are questioning forms.
Porque
Para que
Como
Cuando
Cuanto
Donde
All those, are affirmative forms.
PORQUE
It express a reason behind a certain action or a cause of said action.
¿Por qué viniste?
Porque necesitaba verte
Why did you come here?
Because I needed to see you
PARA QUE
The only one of every one that goes splitted in two words no matter the form. It's used to show a porpuse or an objective for an action.
¿Para qué viniste?
Para que pueda ver el crepúsculo
Why did you come here?

both of you are correct but you, @-Alexia25- , could be a little nicer about it. there was no need to be rude.. you could have just hit the disagree button and commented the correct answer, along with telling the author of the question that the ones you disagreed on are wrong (in your opinion) :) you could have avoided the entire dispute♡

@-Alexia25- to me it seems like you were the one who started it by saying that he can't speak english. only then did he begin to retaliate

@eunacake Didn't you read all the conversation? Before me saying to him that he couldn't speak English, he told me that I didn't know English just because I told him that I didn't understand his message (a message that didn't make any sense, it was impossible for me to understand it...)

@-Alexia25- i think he meant that if you don't know english, then you shouldn't comment much in english, and that you should give reason to your opinions before disliking a comment. my friends often send really..... cryptic messages 😂😂 only way i can understand really weird wordings lolol

@eunacake But the thing is that he was the one who didn't know English!! I have a very very good level at English, so he was who started being rude......
