Pregunta de Inglés (US)

Can I say "Mr. Sasaki requested that Ms. Kato attended the meeting next Wednesday." as the same meaning as "Mr. Sasaki requested that Ms. Kato attend the meaning next Wednesday."

The point I want to make sure is whether the tense of the verb in that-clause (=attended) can correspond to the main clause (=requested) or not.
Also, my understanding is that corresponding of the tenses of main clause and that-clause is used largely in British English. I would like to know if the usage is used in American English as well.

Thank you for caring this question in advance!
