Some Americans only dream of having a spouse and a family with them. Others never want to get married, either because they like being single or they don't like to commit to the people they date. Who you can marry varies with religion. The most common belief comes from Christianity that only a man and woman can marry if under the right circumstances. Lately, it's much more popular to marry whichever gender you want, as there is legal gay marriage in the U.S. now. Some other religions used to promote things like cousin marriages or having more than one wife, but most of that is illegal now. It really depends on the person. There are a lot of different opinions on marriage.

I think the American thinking of marriage it’s similar to the Brazilian’s , in my vision some people see marriage as an obligation or a status matter and others think as something you can choose if you wanna or not
