It would be based on context.
Is it a weekend? an hour or two
Have you talked about it as a pain? half a day
Are you going to work? it's a normal day
etc.
It also would depend on how you say "some".

@rario: If you say you only have "some" work to do, it should probably be about maybe one or two hours, if you had work that would take most of the day up, you'd say you have a lot of work.
