ooohhh then maybe start with "As discussed previously, I am writing to you..." or something similar as using requested twice in a sentence is a bit unnatural 😊😊😊

It does sound a bit harsh as you're aksing for your deadline to be moved back. I think this works better as it's a bit nicer
"I am writing to request an extension for my paper's deadline until the 30th of September. ***insert reason for extension*** Thank you for your understanding."
