¿Esto suena natural? Get a grip on my hand.
¿Esto suena natural? Get a grip on my hand.

If that sounds unnatural, then how about 'I got a grip on the branch so as to go up into the tree.'

Poco natural
In this context, it would be "grab my hand" or "grip my hand" (though you wouldn't hear grip very often).
"I got a grip on the branch to climb the tree" I don't think go into would be suitable here, or at least, it doesn't sound natural.

Don't worry! You can study from the Hobbit as long as you check elsewhere. :)
